His gripping portrayal of a grief-stricken white-collar apparatchik offers a weird, unsettling look at the grueling demands of corporate life, played out through a series of crisp elevator transitions and equally crisp navy suits.Adam Scott as Mark Scout deserves all the praise he's eliciting. But Adam Scott as Adam Scott warrants recognition here, too—not the least for his commitment to Severance-adjacent, office-friendly suiting. Take, for example, the olive-hued Todd Snyder two-piece the actor wore to a recent All-Guild screening in Los Angeles, which he paired with a washed denim shirt and a schoolboy-esque repp tie. In aggregate, the outfit is buttoned-up enough to comply with any Innie-mandated dress codes, but personality-driven enough for Outie duty over the weekend. It's worth noting the ways in which Scott's relatively demure suit swerves against the current grain of red-carpet dressing, too. There were no sprawling lapels, pooling trousers, or tiny brooches here—just pitch-perfect tailoring in the platonic-ideal spring color. At Balenciaga, Demna presented the final—and most ‘normie’ collection—of his tenure, sending models down the runway in sober single-breasted suits in dueling shades of black and navy. Miu Miu's most recent show was rife with beefy single-breasted suits in slightly boxier proportions, while stealthy Scandi imprint Mfpen served up an excellent array of casual jackets that wouldn't look a lick out of place in Mark Scout's closet.Sure, Scott's particular suit still scans as early-AM-stand-up-ready.
