On Saturday, May 17, DeGeneres, 67, shared on Instagram that Augie died on Friday, May 16.
“We had to say goodbye to Augie yesterday. We rescued him 12 years ago and he was so grateful,” DeGeneres wrote in the caption.

She posted several adorable snaps of Augie, including a couple of sweet images of him cuddling up to de Rossi, 52. DeGeneres also added a few photos of a relaxed Augie sleeping around the couple’s home.
